Homesick for Heaven
There is a golden
land
on a far-away
strand
far beyond this earthly
shore
where I long to be forever
more,
for God is there
and in His
care
are those whose
hearts have been washed
in the blood
of The Crucified
One!
Homesick am I
for that place up in the
sky
where angels sing
"Glory to God"
and are joined by those
who lived upon the
sod
of this earthly tent
wandering through the
desert of this
life
awaiting transition
from the daily
strife
of this sin-cursed
life
and all that
where Satan is the god
of this
age!
He is the father of
lies
who does his best
to turn mankind
aside
from making peace with
The Christ of
God!
Think it not strange
that the Devil
wants your body and
soul
and all that would
make you
whole.
For those who have been
born from
above,
who have tasted
the life of
love
we are homesick for
the mansions
above
where there is no sin
in all who have
entered in;
and no suffering and
pain,
no darkness of
night,
no cripples in
sight,
just eternal delight
in the presence
of God
The Father and Jesus
The Son
and The Holy Spirit
through whom
we were
won.
The streets are of
gold
and 'time' has been placed
on hold
for eternity needs not
a time-piece
for it is one eternal
present.
The Mares of the Night
cannot enter
to rob old soldiers
of rest and
to bring back sights
all through the
nights
where once the Mares
held old veterans
at bay.
Yes, I'm homesick
for Heaven!
The Word tells me that
eye hath not
seen,
nor ear heard,
neither has entered into
the heart
of man
that which The
Lord
hath prepared for them
who love
God!
This old veteran
is listening
for the trumpet
which shall surely
sound,
the whole world
'round,
when Jesus appears
in the
sky
to receive His Bride
who shall be
forever
by His side.
Lord, in Your perfect
timing
there will be no more
tears,
for You have promised
to wipe them all
away
in that Grand and Glorious
day.
No hunger there
for there are trees beside
The River of Life
which bear all
manner of
fruits
which are borne
in perpetuity.
No 'homeless' in Glory
bearing signs
which read
"Will work for food"!
No child will
ever feel' gnawing pangs
of hunger
in that Fair Land, and even the
roses refuse to fade.
New Jerusalem
comes down
from above
like a heavenly
dove.
God will remake this old
planet and
there will be 'Heaven
on Earth' !
No 'Homesickness'
in God's
vocabulary!
So my dear way-faring
friend,
will you enter
in?
You can indeed if
you've been
born again!
I invite you!
The Spirit does the
same,
for this in real;
and salvation is not a
game!
So, by Rapture or
by death,
I'll join my Savior
who gave me
breath.
In that Holy place
we shall look
on Jesus'
face
to be forever
blest!
Thanks be to God
for eternal
rest...
I'm going HOME!
