For veterans enrolled as Priority Group 7 and some PG 6 for non-service connected conditions, the outpatient copay was lowered December 1, 2001 to $15 from $50.
HEADS UP if you use the VA pharmacy.
During the latter part of January 2002, the cost of a prescription and refill will increase to $7 from $2. If you're due for a prescription renewal or refill, be sure you beat the date which has not yet been announced. I'll post it as soon as I get it.

The effective date for the increase from $2 to $7 for each VA prescription/refill is 4 February 2002.

I believe the copays have been reduced to $15 for visits to your PRIMARY provider. If you go to a specialist, they will charge you the $50 copay. Actually, it's a 2-tierd thing. The medication copay is going up from $2 to $7.
