where's the party and what kind of cake is it?
Is we that old? No wonder I got the rheumatis. Cake would have been nice but I think a pull off of a jug would be more better.
Stay healthy you old timers,
Andy

The Army celebrated it's 227th Birthday recently and I was fortunate enough to go to their Birthday Ball. I was invited to the 478th Civil Affairs Battalion Eighth Annual Soldier's Ball here in Miami and was escorted by Master Sergeant Bertazon.
I placed the eMOM flyers on the table beside the 478th Battalion's Historical Record Book so everyone interested could pick on up either on their way in or on their way out.
It was wonderful to meet so many of our local "heroes" and to be able to talk to them about life in the Army and our eMail Our Military Campaign and eMailOurMilitary.com. I had the pleasure of meeting Lt. Col. Perez, LTC. Paul F. Dicker and Brigadier General Thomas P. Maney who was the guest speaker.
The Call to Order and the Posting of the Colors along with the welcoming remarks were quite moving. I was so happy to be able to share in this tradition as the daughter of an Army Veteran. I especially liked the Presentation of Toasts where you are allowed to raise your glass and make a toast. Some of the toasts made were to our fallen heroes, their families, our President and Vice President and the supporters of the military.
Dinner and dessert were amazing and after dinner, the guest speaker, BG Thomas P. Maney addressed us. His speech was a call to action and personified everything we stand for at eMailOurMilitary.com.
Later in the evening I had an opportunity to speak with BG Thomas P. Maney and he was so impressed with our campaign he took several of our flyers, my name and email address and presented eMailOurMilitary.com with his coin (photos attached). The side with the star and the yellow and purple stripes represents the Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command and the side with the star on the tri-color shield represents the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center.
What an incredible feeling! General Maney was so kind he even posed for photos with me. We are going to have quite the scrapbook this year!
All in all it was a wonderful evening and a super experience and I'll be following up with the Family Readiness for the Battalion to make sure we are supporting the 478th to the best of our abilities.
