Mission No 48 & 49
June 13, 1944
Munich, Germany
The target was an aircraft factory. We were at an altitude of 21,500 ft and it was 28 degrees below zero. The enemy shot a lot of flak at us. We saw 7 enemy fighters (ME109?s). The name of the factory was Oberpffenhofen and Dornick.
Mission No 50 & 51
June 16, 1944,
Vienna, Austria
The target was an oil refinery. We were at an altitude of 25,000 ft and it was 25 degrees below zero. We had a lot of flak shot at us. We also saw some enemy fighters. I saw a B-24 get shot down and 3 chutes opened. The plane hit the ground.
