Good Morning,
Not unlike those pop-up screens that ask if you would like to install new available software, where I have checked the box that says " Always trust content from...?" I have always picked up my prescriptions from the local VA and trusted that I got what the able said. This morning however, when I went to a new bottle that I picked up yesterday from the pharmacy and became curious when a half-pill dumped out into my hand. I looked into the bottle to see if I could locate the other half and realized that I was short some pills. On counting what should be a 30 day subscription -- one pill a day, I found only 26 -- including the half pill.
I will contact the Pharmacy when they open to rectify this. I would like to know though, has any of you counted short on any prescriptions, or been advised to count your meds when you get them? Unlike most of the administrative stuff such as records, I have never even considered keeping a watch on or records of [prescriptions] that the pharmacy has issued.
On a related note, It came to my attention yesterday that the records of my prescriptions (acetaminophen), had been purged from the database at the hospital. This would not concern me except for the fact that the Dr. I saw wanted me to have blood work done to determine my liver function, based on my previous acetaminophen use. It seems that they may have over prescribed it and that there is new evidence that it can destroy your liver.
