All members and citizens concerned about the longstanding injustice that requires military retirees to forfeit a dollar of retirement pay for every dollar of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation must take immediate action and contact their Senators.
On June 19, 2002, the Senate adopted an amendment based on legislation introduced by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senator Tim Hutchinson (R-AR) that would permit concurrent receipt of both military longevity retirement pay and VA disability compensation.

The Administration has threatened to veto the defense bill over this issue.

Please use the attached prepared messages to urge the President and your Senators to support concurrent receipt.
