Dan,

I-80 runs from Chicago to Colorado and it goes out East as well.
I've made this run about 11 or 12 times to visit my Dad and Brother.

It's about 1100 miles - straight as an arrow. And after a while the eye's get tired and the road looks just like yours.

Ken,

I took I-55 to St. Louis many years ago with my young wife and we damn near ran into something that looked liked your picture.
I pulled right did several 360's flew across the road over a big ditch and out into a cow pasture. A semi behind me smoked his tires and pulled over to see if Kath and I were OK. I got out of the car and was shocked that I didn't roll over. We drove out of the pasture and went on our way.

New road construction was under way and the road made a left and then was corrected - it must have been some major error in the layout but it had an immediate impact on you if you went straight. God was watching out for us that day.

I think my picture was one of thosehorse and cart things. Two departments with different agenda's. Typical IDOT (Illinois Dept of Transportation) Standards and Practices.

Boats, what were you driving when did your spin out?

Ken,

I had a 1965 Buick Rivera what a nice car that was. It had a bad electrical short in it and being all power no one could find it and I was eating batteries about every two months. Warranty worked for one or two but after that they wouldn't take it back.

I think it had a 440 something engin big block!! All leather my wife liked that car. After that I went to trucks.

Boats, Yeah those were nice cars, suspension wasn't all it good be for fast turns, but they floated down the hi-way. I had a 76 Olds 98 with a 440 that made the ride from Bloomington to Chicago a pleasure. Used to have to go up about once a month for seminars. Now, I wouldn't go to Chicago to see the "Passion Play" with the original cast :D

i have a 1993 lincoln towncar and it
floats down the highway.
