sn-e3,
It's a shame to loose a vet. But life is what it is. Now he's got a tougher job he'll be recruiting other's to make the journey.
I hope when I make the transition over that someone is there to meet me. Maybe Mr. Olsen will show me the ropes.
God rest his soul. Amen

My Dad had a funeral with Military Honors. Not only were the Marines there, but also some of the guys that he battled with in the Pacific. Funny, but a comforting thought that I had at the time was that now he can stand tall with two legs again! The last two years of my father's life I took care of him as much as I could, and he became my best friend. I still miss that!
(I guess this thread turned into my therapy session for today!)

Jane,
You're good daughter and I'm sure your Dad was very proud of you and grateful for taking care of him when needed.
