My baby, 11 yrs. old, was awarded Rookie of the Year recently. He played Defensive End. I thought I'd share my excitement with all of you wonderful patriots. :)

Congrats, philly - you both doing good. A wise old brown man once told me " Sons are for the healing of the fathers " and an old old off white woman once told me " a child can never out run the love of their father "

Thanks DMZ-LT.

I think your quotes were great. Could I, perhaps, change them slightly to fit a mother? Being that I am both mother & father to my two boys, I'd like to say that "Sons are for the healing of their mothers" and "a child can never outrun the love of their mother" . My boys will always know and feel that I love them with all of my heart.

Thank you again for your kind words. :)

DMZ-LT,

You are funny. I'm a woman. ;) However, I am two roles to my boys mother and father. Thanks for thinking of me. :)

You should be proud. You must be doing something right as a single parent. Proud of the both of you.
Now if you want to good male roll models, bring up your boys and of course yourself and let Chris and I teach them fly fishing, and we'll let you come along to too. . . . if you stay out of the way of us men :D .

Boy do I love to stir the pot.

You both are too funny. Thank you for the compliments. My folks have contributed to my efforts of raising my boys. My Dad, has especially, been instrumental in molding my boys lives. I have two wonderful and special boys that came out of my journey. Actually, I should say our journey together has been wonderful.

As for fly fish'n, you shouldn't count me out too soon. I could end up being your best study/pupil. :)

philly,
What Waz said, I've heard the same thing. No lie.

My initial thought was Wazza was playing a practical joke on me because of his great sense of humor/wit. Then my girlfriend confirmed she had once heard the same theory. She explained how her husband's fingers were almost all the same size. She said you find that in a lot of musicians and artists. Later, I became more curious and asked a few more people and they laughed. Practical joke it seemed. Now you are telling me Wazza is correct. Ugh...

Is that rock over there vacant? I'd like to find residence under it...

I don't know if its true, I just said I heard the same thing as Waz. It was on TV but I don't remember which program. Maybe its an urban myth.

I'm sure the compliment is genuine.

Oh yea, men and women are different. I can say something like "I think I'll go to the hardware store." She'll say "what do you mean by that?"

This is the family channel, we should move this to the saloon. Then we could start the Mars Venus thin all over again. :D But then you would get Jane and Sue and your whole gang after me.

Thanks Reeb.

If my son makes it to the Pro's, he'd need to be drafted to the Oakland Raiders. The Oaktown Boys. :D :D ;)

Hi philly,
How did Oakland do yesterday? I haven't paid much attention to Oakland since the Twins beat the A's in the playoffs. :D:D

Very funny. ;)

The Raiders spanked the Charges. Score was 27-7.

Oaklands Record:

Win/Loss
9/4

Not too shabby.. :D :D

Thats because you have our old Q-back Rich Gannon. :) Too bad the Vikes don't have him back. They have too many ego's on the team this year. And it shows.

It's a good thing Gannon isn't choking yet. In the past, he'd start off the season strong and then choke up towards the end. He's throwing longer passes instead of playing it safe with the short passes. He's one of the contenders for MVP this year.

I rooted for the Vikes while I lived in Minnesota years ago. They're my second favorite team. ;)

Congratulations to your Son on being selected as Rookie of the Year. Good action shot as it looks as if your Son is just about to catch em comin round the bend. Oh, I have family connects somewhat west of Milpitas. All that would have to do with Carmel, Hawk Tower, Tor House and the poet Robinson Jeffers.

Carmel by the sea is a beautiful place to visit.

I most enjoy visiting Monterey. The town has a village of shops and a nice restaurant overlooking the ocean. The food is pretty good.

Enjoy
