Did you read about the real (and I use the term loosely) Iraqi navy?A few monthsbefore hostilites started, Iraq sent some of its sailors to a port in Italy where they were to take command of a couple of destroyers made in an Italian shipyard. When the shooting started they were forbidden to leave the port so they live on board, some with wives and kids, and basically sit things out until the issue of what to do with the ships and men is settled. From what I've read they're in no hurry to return and live off the kindness of the locals who send them food and have even hired some of them in local industries. It'd be funny if they decided to stay in Italy. I can see their children now, Guiseppe Hussein or Sophia Mohammed.
