John Finn, 93 years young, and the oldest (verifiable) living recipient of the Medal of Honor, is the most adamant individual on this subject that I have ever met!
A gun owner, and a former Naval Aviation Ordnance-man, Finn, like many of you, fights to preserve the rights of gun owners!
Just thought you gents might like to know that?

Good Gun Control is called: "BRASS".
1. - Breath
2. - Relax (let-out a half breath and hold it)
3. - Aim ("Pumkin on the fence post"alignment)
4. - Slack (take-up trigger slack)
5. - Squeeze
Granted, "BRASS" doesn't necessarily: "An Expert" make.
But,...and remember: "BRASS", and I guarantee your hitting what you're shooting at every time with an open sight (scope also).
Not flinching also helps.

Wasn't Mr Finn the same person an Airport Security person was trying to take away his Medal of Honor because the pin might be used as a weapon ?

Isn't Gun Control keeping them in a 2 inch group at 300 yds.?

Then you really must be a moderate because "today's" libs hate guns and all they stand for. It sure ain't kornservatives that are sueing the gun makers because crooks and punks murder with them. Never heard of a South Carolina boy who doesn't own a gun! Got a few around the house myself. By the way...when are we gonna golf? Getting my old Ping Eye 2 Square Grooves back this Memorial Day Weekend. Can't wait to hit them again.

Razz,
You may be an old fashion democrat. But, you are not a Modern Liberal. Gun Control is the number one thing on their agenda.
Just got a news Flash! The Lawsuit was thrown out of Court!
Yeah.

Even as an Expert with an MI-Rifle out to 500 yards for 3 years, and once firing: "A Possible"(250 out of 250), don't believe I could've kept; "A 2 inch group at 300 yards" with an open and/or peep sight. However, and even though never trying such with a scope and a well zeroed 30.06 weapon,...I must believe that a 2 inch grouping at 300 yards is really no-big-deal? Regardless, I must also believe that even with a scope,...total surprise at the round going-off and/or not flinching makes for the best: "Gun Control" of all. Hey Keith,...maybe that's how the expression: "Stay Loose" first originated? Seems about right to me.

Jerry D, I'm surprised at you, a Zoomie, not knowing who it was?
It was one of your guys, Joe Foss who got hassled by the airport security. Sadly, Joe has passed on since that happened.

Neil,
I usually sight in my 30-06 1903A3 at 200 yds. Using a bench rest and sand bags a 2'' grouping is pretty good shooting. I'm a good shooter but I don't even come close to the real pros.
A peep sight at 300 yds and a 2'' group would be a miracle. With a scope and a .308 or 30-06 or another good round and good ammunnition would be a cinch for any competition shooter.

I never heard about that one? The MOH hangs on a ribbon around the neck, held there by a fastening device!

Thanks Murph, I had forgotten his name :ad: but, the incident at the airport stayed in my memory as a ridiculous thing to happen to a retired MOH service member.
