It's a sad day to see a great ship go into mothballs or be put to rest. I've never served on the Connie but I've seen her several times in my day.
To the crews who served aboard this ship during it time at sea I regret seeing her pass from her glory. She was a proud vessel as were the many who've served on her.
At least she didn't get torched like my old Bon Hom CVA31 who went to the scrap yard.
I hope the Kitty stays awhile I was on her as well as the American as well. Several of my old ships have bitten the bullet and gone to Davy Jone's Locker or been put to the torch.
As do all soldier's ships too must pass we will miss them but they can never take away the memories that we've all shared by being on them.
