View Full Version : Chinese "STARWARS"?

Now that the Chinese government has successfully launched and retrieved orbiting astronaut, the word on some news programs has begun discussing:
a) That it was the Clinton administration who somehow allowed China to have american technological plans and information which made this rocket launch possible.
b) That China is now a player, with Russia and America, in potentially likely outer space warfare, of the shooting or ICBM air-to-ground/air-to-air variety.
>Any truth in either or both of these contentions?
>Is it something to be concerned about for future american war/defense plans & strategies?
>Is there likely to be an extra-terrestrial theatre of operations or battlefield other than the long established intel birds flying around up there?
>Does this or not have any effect on NASA budgets and missions?

I have no doubt this will raise security concerns for our country in the furture. It is interesting to note that while Clinton may have given/sold missile technology to China their space capsule itself was built on the original Russian capsule designs. The Chinese capsule is slightly bigger and has significant technological upgrades but nonetheless it is of basically Russian design. This is a fact the Chinese have downplayed in their media for obvious reasons but it is comforting to know :)

One wonders why the Ivan connection has not been AS mentioned as the American... but now that you menton it, the fact that the Chinese capsule was designed to come down on LAND suggests that design connection again!
The portends for outer space warfare are intellectually interesting, almost as if there is too much ground being occupied by land/sea-based contests here on earth, and so a new limitless fresh theatre is under consideration? Or, could it mean deployment of killer satellites by the three (thusfar) sides. Sue would be one way to restrict the NUMBER of combatants!
Hmmmmmm...

Well, you seem to have chosen an odd thread for a first post, and an odd response to that thread... which makes me want to ask what it is that you might like to add to your comment?
And, to welcome you to Patriot Files... glad to have you with us.

Clinton OK'd the sale of hardened computer chips to the Chinese allowing them to send high tech computers into space.

I could not recall what, exactly, happened on that deal... I knew something did and that there was a lot of outrage expressed at the time it happened, for the precise reason we are now witnessing.
One wonders the exact extent of the "sharing" that went on, what (if anything) was accepted in return, and what is to come as it may affect warfare in the far east... not solely in or with China.

From what I read, Clinton got money, money and money.
For his campaign, for his campaign and for his presidential library.

I know so little of your persuasions, and do not mean to offend in any way... but may I say here, God Help us, please, if what you say is true.
I have so often thought in the recent several years that Bill Clinton is utterly heedless of the true and full extent of damage he has done to America... not only as to embarassing so many of us in the eyes and heart of world history, but also as to poisoning the harmony of our people for generations to come.
Such selfish acts, as may be inferred from your post, on his part and that of his apologists, may well evolve toward terrible consequences in wars yet unimaginable... for the sake of an egocentric library for an ordinary man who repeatedly defiled his marital vows in the people's house, and then lied about it.

We probably disagree in many areas about politics. That has nothing to do with my comments here.
Search for China, Clinton, Gore, campaign and other words you think up yourself. Check nuclear too. Make sure you read articles from both political sides.
I am an engineer. My friends are engineers. Some present white papers to Congress, serve on international committes, travel around the world for their country or their company and know a whole lot more than I do.
I just know enough to know who to call if something in the news scares me.
God help us.
