Hello; I've just joined this forum and thought I would take a second to introduce myself.
I'm an oldie, but a goodie, lol, 54 and from Rochester Michigan.
My dear hubbie is a Vietnam Vet ( Army )and we are the proud parents of a son serving his second tour of duty in Iraq
(Also Army).
I also served briefly as an Army nurse in Vietnam.
My current occupation is that of a teacher. I love teaching and am never hesitant to tell those whose futures I am trying to help shape, what a wonderful country we live in and how important it is for us to support our military.
Well, I am on break at the moment and must get back to the classroom; but you can be sure that I will be back often and I look forward to getting to know you better.
Hugs, Patriot Lady
David

Michigan - my grand-parents on my Mother's side lived in Michigan. Leroy, MI just outside of Cadillac. Had two uncles up there - one did milk cows (Uncle Chuck) and the other died so long ago I can remember his name (I feel bad cause his name is lost to me right now) but when we were young we'd ride his old horse with a sway'd back. Three of us could lay side by side across his back.
I also remember the Michigan snow apples. Ugly on the outside but snow white on the inside. They are all gone now but I remember them clearly and can see their faces.
Welcome aboard we can always use some new input as we older dogs are getting abit weathered - if ya know what I mean. ha ha

You're going to get it a bunch here but welcome home PatriotLady and thanks for joining in at the PatriotFiles. I'm sure that you will find the site as a helpful resource in teaching because David and Bern have devoted every resource that they are capable of getting a hold of and posting it under one header. Nevertheless, that's not what the PatriotFiles.com is all about. It's about a brother and sisterhood that you and yours joined.
I'll say it again, thank your son for his service to our freedom and his wish to pass that liberty on to the world we live in. He's part of the brotherhood also.

The Psyco Vets Motor cycle club, Most of our members ride psyco psycles. We are the guys Keith warned you about. Fear not thought because most of us have one PH and several of us have multiples and we LOVE our nurses. Wish more would hang around. One of my friends met and married a nurse in VN, Has some interesting tales of romantic interludes on the back deck of an M60A1 Tank. Hope to see you a lot.

Keith you need to pull Sid aside and have a talk with him because he might be giving us a bad rep. You can't take a lady to the deck of a tank. It's gotta be real uncomfortable.

patriot lady--welcome aboard---I signed up on this forum in Sept.,so I'am fairly new also.I will tell you one thing I have deducted from reading this forum
I have been reading forums for years, but this is the only one I signed on to.Some of these postings have strong opinions, and they seem hateful at times, but it seems that this forum has a cohesive nature as it relates patriotism and military.
I got the feeling that if it came to "fish or cut bait" all these people would cover each others six.Everyone seems to come together when it is most needed.I think I would share a foxhole with any of these men and women, and regardless of their postings they would all be willing to give their lives for what they believe in.
This is the mark of a true patriot,if you believe in your cause and you are ready to give your life in defense of that cause.
Just my opinion.

You got it right! Great bunch of women and men on this site. We don't always agree on everything but we are family and stick together. There isn't an individual I wouldn't go to bat for at anytime who are members of this forum. A wonderful bunch of people.
Keith
P.S. They let me practice my sicko therapy on the Psycovets. :D
keith

Razar,
You are 100 % right there isn't one person here that I don't like or cant stand.. and I would do anything in my power for anyone here...
love you

Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your and your husbands service in the Nam. Prayers for your son. Thank you for the TLC I received in the Nam from the the Army Nurses when I had malaria, and needed stitches in my leg.

Thank you and your husband for your service. When I had malaria in Vietnam, the army nurses were great, never thanked them for what the did, so I'll say thank to you. Prayers for your son I know God will watch over him, and bring him home safely.

Welcome and thanks to your family for your service. I had in-laws who lived in Traverse City for a while. They were from the deep South and it was necessary to ship cornmeal, cracklins, turnip greens, etc. at frequent intervals or they would have faced starvation.
