Hello David, Thanks for your assistance with my registration difficulties. Now I need to get a handle on all of these symbols and rules, as you can see, I barely get by on the old computer. This site was recommended to me by a fellow veteran on the history channel.com, Vietnam War site. His handle is MontanaKid and he knows from my previous posts how disappointed I was in some of the disrespect shown to veterans of the Vietnam War on that site. There is a small number of people who pretend to be veterans and who actually give false stories about their service and the service of others. I realize that we are all only who we say we are, until proven otherwise, but I never thought anyone would show such disrespect for my memories that I finally decided to share with strangers. It was difficult to open up and now it seems that I have possibly erred in my judgment. Anyway, I will read and absorb some of the posts or threads on here and perhaps I will contribute something worthwhile. I really hope there is some type of spell check on this site, I admit I need it often. I am the son of a Marine, who was a veteran of Iwo Jima and Korea, both Inchon and Chosin and a tour in my war, in 1967. I myself served in Vietnam as a Marine in 1968-69 and attained the lofty rank of Corporal, squad leader. I served with 2nd Platoon, Fox Company, 2/1 Marines as a 0311 rifleman. Before rotating home I was wounded, 6-21-69, and I took part in Operation Pipestone Canyon and Durham Peak. I am a retired Firefighter-Captain. Semper Fi

03mFox ... Glad you made it here. You will fit right in. PF's a great place although there are a few you have to watch out for who are notorious for high jacking a thread.

Scott,
Currahee is the American aboriginal Cherokee Indian equivalent for Stands Alone and is the motto of the 506th Infantry adopted by the regiment before it's activation into the 101st Airborne Division during WW II
BTW .... I sent you a private message with a question of my own

As the Counselor Emeritus/Resident Curmudgeon of this site and the Psyco Vets, I too would like to welcome you aboard. We are quite well vetted here, and don't think we have any wannabees lurking about; last one was quickly picked out, and subsequently banished back to the slimy world he inhabits.
Your first counseling session is gratis: don't let Bobk get too friendly with you, avoid making eye contact with any animals in his possession, and refrain from any proffered brownies.

I just sent a nice reply to a private message sent to me yesterday from someone else, and lo and behold, there it was in my own inbox. Then I carefully composed a reply to another new friend and at some point I hit the wrong button and there it went to him, a partial letter, incomplete, unfinished and oh so revealing about my status as a cherry on this board. My one new friend never got the original but I did enjoy reading it again and my second new buddy is probably wondering if I am available for therapy. I hope you get this SuperScout ! Jerry D, I just realized there is a limit on how much you can write on a quick reply box. Boy am I on a fast track to senility. Thanks for your welcome and I promise to get better on here. I too believe in tradition and my southern heritage is important to me. I like to over whelm with facts and figures and I believe all of us have the same right to celebrate our ancestors. Racism is wrong and so is prejudice and discrimination against any people. I look forward to exchanging ideas and stories with all of you well versed characters. Semper Fi, Scott

Cops and Firefighters,
The word is out, best therapy sessions for these guys is the patriotfiles self-appointed, unofficial therapist (me). My business is booming! Bob K. is my best example of the positive change that my therapy can provide. However, his wife wants her money back, she says that there is not positive change that she can see.
Welcome aboard. A great bunch of Men and Women.

Welcome aboard, look forward to seeing your posts on the forums.
Sir!
Did receive both original aswell as the later complete "private replys" from you, of my same such to you.
As I initially wrote to you, I "signed in" in by late 2003 for this forum, but never really did begin to post. Just once or twice. "Time at hand" versus other demands of my time, well....
Due to this, I do not know many whom also post on this forum. But. You know mr Farnie from "the other board". And Mr Farnie and I know eachother as of some years back, from another forum aswell. I see that also mr Robert J Ryan replyed to you in this thread. Mr Ryan and I have been in contact with eachother before, on other forums. I consider myself fortunate, to have come in contact with both men. Just as I do regarding the new contact between you and myself.
As I only posted once or twice earlier, and it was as far back in time as late 2003, perhaps I should do the same as you have done though.... To presentate myself in this post-section "new members", as I in reality Am a "new lad" on this forum. Am at work currently, so as situation here at work permits me to, I will try to so do.
T G C! (=Take Good Care!)
Sincerely
A.B

Boy, I lose more letters-messages on here then humanly possible. This is my second attempt at thanking everyone. I am indebted to you all for showing me such kindness. Your positive outlook is refreshing and your generous spirit is just what I need to hear at this particular point in my journey to parts unknown. Again, thank you DMZ-LT, Gimpy, Keith_Hixson, Robert J Ryan, and A.B and anyone else I have failed to respond to. It is probably my fault, either operator error or lack of attention to detail. Glad to see you finally made it over here. Always enjoy your posts on THC and looking forward to reading them here. You're gonna love it here. No wannabes here. We send them scurrying back under the rock from which they slithered with a burning heat tab up their ass.
Welcome Home, and Welcome here.

Must be always the last one to say Welcome Home - A fire-fighter that's what my Uncle Lee was in Chicago. Glad you came on board we can use all the help we can get.
Post your subject - sit back and wait for the incoming - much of which has good meaning behind it. Some is to draw you out and see if you will fire back. Regardless its a good site to share and unload. When times get rough this is a good site to get pumped back up - they never let anyone down - I know.
