Hello from the Southland! Another FNG checking in....that is if I've figured this site out. SNAFU (that is me and computers). I've read a little here, and it seems to be a great bunch of people.
If I ever learn how, I have a couple sites to post. One is a bunch of Nam Vet bikers. The other is the Patriot Guard Riders. I'm sure everyone here would like to see that site. In case I can't figure this out, the PGR site is at Patriotguard.org.
Looking forward to this.

Poncho, that's a good work the Patriot Guard is doing.
Here's the link to the Patriot Guard's Site explaining how they got started. I encourage anyone that goes there to check out the "We get letters" section and the photo Gallery. It will make you proud to be an American and a Veteran.
Thank you for your service and welcome home :32:

I knew this was going to be a good site! Thanks for all the responses, and especially the welcome homes. I've only found out in the last three years how much it means to hear that. We will always have each other!
For those who asked, Clyo is about 40 miles north of Savannah, on the Savannah river.
Sorry I haven't replied before this, had a lot of family illness recently, and one of our Brothers is going thru his 5th chemo treatment as we speak for leukemia. Agent Orange raises it's ugly head once more. Yep, Vietnam is still killing us.
I'm sending the PF site to my Brothers I ride with. Some will most likely be here soon.
Again, really appreciate the Welcomes!
When I figure out where to post it, I have a poem I wrote I believe most vets will like.
The site for our riding group is at Vietvetriders.navig8.to/
It is realitively new, but pretty good. At least you can see what some old South GA Vets look like. Bad, bad.....

Yeah Seascamp, another squid. LOL, those old boys in green ain't too much trouble, have to ride with them all the time. You're right, they mean well, just have to help em along. lol
Gotta luv em man. They earned it.
I was MR3. Didn't get to use my rate much though. Was stuck on a small "ship". ARS type. But then, with a total crew of 66, knew everyone on board.
Thanks for the welcome Brother!

Hey Sid......Went to the thread and looked. Sounds like a good time. (typical bunch of wacky vets!!). My Brothers would fit right in, I am the only sane one in the bunch.....no, really! I do have one serious weakness....small bikes with asses that look big on em. That will get me in trouble!! lol
Couldn't see where or when the campout is Bro. It is short notice, but we have been known to do stuff like that. Tell me where to get your info, and I'll talk with my Brothers. If not this year, sounds like a good trip next year.
Thanks Bro

Appreciate the info. Now I see why the Psycho name..lol. Scarey part is, ya'll all look pretty normal to me. I posted a pic of our group in the gallery. Taken Veterans Day 05, it was cold, so all the leather was out.
I'll talk to my Bros, see what can happen. We're supposed to make Rolling Thunder at the Wall Memorial Day. Will have to see if it's possible this year. If not, it sure sounds like a plan next year. Elijay is a good ride. We rode to Helen last year, that's about the same ride.
Think I'm gonna like it here Brothers. Same kinda freaks we're used to. We got something nobody and nothing can take away...a Brotherhood.
THe group pic I posted was taken at the Effingham Country Veterans Park. It's a very nice park, about 2 years old. Have ceremonies every Veteran's and Memorial Days. One unique monument is a Purple Heart monument. I believe it's the only one in Georgia. Was erected by the Military Order of The Purple Heart..
I'll try to get an overall pic of the park.
Will let you know if we're coming up. Again, thanks Brothers.

It ain't lookin good to make the trip this year. Too short notice, shoulda found this site a couple months ago. Some of us plan to make Rolling Thunder in D.C. Memorial Day weekend. Vacations have already been set up at work. I will have more time to bring it up to my Brothers here for the next year party. I'll hold back on a couple of them so they can burn shit next year. lol
Later Brother

Where did you sling those drinks Gracie? Maybe already met and don't know it! Man! Too many of them! The house we used to rent outside Helen ain't availabe any more, so we gotta find a new place. We usually all crash together...well, not in the same beds, just the same house. When I do head back that way, I'll PM you. Thanks. Oh yeah, I don't think it matters what size bike you put that ass on!! You thinking about a Wide Glide, or maybe a Fat Boy? lol
Bob, Man that's a helluva ride, up one day and back the next! Ain't 20 no more! Last trip up, rode up Fri., met some brothers from Suwanee and rode all day Sat., then back home Sun. That last 100 miles there was no place to put my butt that didn't hurt!
Ok, so i'm a candyass!
Still sounds like a good time. I'm gonna try to get some of us there. I NEED A RIDE!!!! But I ain't bringin no dam deisel fuel!!
Ya'll sure got me wanting to ride up. Would rather not ride that far solo. Did that last summer to Atlanta and bout got my ass busted in one town. Idiot ran a red light. That'll make your butt pucker.

Poncho-
Welcome to the site, welcome home, and thank you for your service!
Ok, drop 'em. Turn your head an cough. Now the other way. Turn around. That hurt? Weeelll, reckon ya pass the physical. Now git yer sorry ass on up the mountain where ya belong troop...er...swabbie!
For this event there ain't no shame in coming in a 4-wheeler, in fact most folks will. Folks from both coasts and the benighted frozen far North will be flyin in to Atlanta and hooking up with some of the guys for a ride on up to the mt..If you could catch a hop or feeder flight, that might be an alternative for you.
In any case, please be advised that this event is waaay more about people than machines.

Poncho--
Listen to Hal: Not that you couldn't handle it, but you haven't seen Twisted Sisters Lane yet. The road up Psyco Mtn lives up to it's name.
I could make it, but then again I could just about carry my bike up it.
As for new bike, I'll probably go metric. But should I go Harley, it'll probably be the Super Glide Sport-- love the matte black pkg., it fits me perfectly- no lowering necessary, and I had an orgasm on one at Killer Creek H-D with the bike standing still. I can only imagine what jollies I'd get going down the road on it. I used to sneak off on an ex's FXRS when he'd stay out all night on me. Wasn't a bad trade in my estimation.
Helen, ah my beloved Helen! I worked at Wizard's Roadhaus the summer of 2000, also worked at Unicoi State Park. Went to work at Tee Time in May, 2001-- was there on and off until they closed in December '02.
Where do y'all hang out?
As for accomodations, just ran across Chalet Kristy's brochure. They have cabins with hot tubs, etc., and are usually reasonably priced.
However, when I'm flying solo (which is most of the time), I stay in one of the loft rooms (#11) at the Hofbrauhaus. The owner's a pal of mine, and I flirt in German, so he gives me a good rate. Plus, there's a restaurant/bar downstairs.
There's a bunch of places to stay up along Ridge Rd. and out toward Unicoi. Don't know if any of them have telephone numbers yet, let alone websites. Guess I'll have to get you the info the old fashioned way-- should I do it in one trip or space it out over several weekends, hmmmm??? Laprade's up on Lake Burton is relatively nice, cheap, secluded and includes 3 damned fine meals a day. Last year I believe it was $45 per person per day. They might actually have a website, too!
So find a truck, find a trailer, and bring your a$$ and bike on up here. No sense ARRIVING with the monkeybutt. And it's a terrific ride across GA 60 & 180 over to Helen from the Mtn.
Last one to the Southside's a rotten egg!!!
Love & Kisses,
Gracie
PS, So who you slummin' around Gwinnett County with? Did they take you to the Zoo Tavern?

Gracie..if you had an orgasm without even moving, you better not get a Super Glide, you'll fall off the dang bike! That happened to a friend with an old ground pounder, the chic on the back fell off at a stop light! He got some nasty looks from other drivers, thought he threw her off. LOL :h: :ab:

I'm actually capable of having an O without losing all of my motor skills.
It's amazing to me the "ordinary" events that set off such phenomena. Most recently it happened the first time I picked up an acoustic bass. I'm glad there weren't a lot of folks at the music store that day...
Doc.2/47
04-24-2006, 09:31 AM
Gosh. I wouldn't call runnin into an acoustic bass an everyday event. Largemouth,Smallmouth,Ky.,Red-eye, War-mouth,-sure there's lotsa them around. Think I even ran into an autistic bass once(hit that rascal upside the head 4-5 times with a plastic worm an he never even blinked!). But acustic bass gotta be rare. I sure never caught one.
I,personally, have never been able to maintain an intimate relationship with a cold-blooded critter. One night meals has been about the size of it. But-if you're really fond of this acoustic bass-you might want to check with BobK.

Where do you stick your thingie in an acoustic bass?......Now I could see a large mouth bass,(The name alone gives it away) but not an acoustic bass.

Guys, guys, guys,
Bill Farnie is actually the authority on acoustic bass (base) around here. Unfortunately, he can't make it down this year.
As for cold-blooded critters, I'm planning to bring both of my "significant others" to the mountain. Yes, they're both black and they do what I tell them...
