RADAR Nav systems?
Any of the RADAR Navigation systems that the aircraft had, our shop had to do the repairs on them. RADAR. TACAN (TACtical Air Navigation), the altimeters (radio based, not the barometric altimeters). Essentially the nav systems that transmitted or recieved.
The inertial nav system (doppler), was not ours. It didn't transmit, just relied on it's own thing.

this was pre-GPS, not sure which shop took over the GPS stuff when it came out.

Thanks for the welcome all.
Jerry,my last year at Alconbury, they were having the radio guys crosstrain with us. They split flight-line work from shop work. Us radio/radar flightline guys pretty much did each others work (well, mainly radio helping us, our systems were in a permanent state of broke all the time). We weren't officially together by a long shot, and I think the shop guys were still split at the time.

Excellent! Another member of the Mighty United States Air Force! We've got enough Dogfaces, Jarheads, and Swabbos.
