A great bunch of men and women.
But, you must have a warped sense of humor.
Be very interested in your perspectives of the Korean War.

Thanks for joining us. Yur gonna find out that there's a good deal of psycos right here so you've come ta the right place. Ain't no leaflets gonna hep em none though.
Spent 21 days in Korea in early '67 an it left a few impressions, it smelled like kimshisoon as they opened the door of the plane an didn't smellno better 'till the plane left 21 days later. Them folks can make anythin outta anythin cheap an iffn they can't make itthey'll steal it. Least there weren't no shootin goin on though.

psywarone, I don't remember where I read that quote but at the time around Atlanta they were trying to Develop some land that still has the earthen defenses clearly marked out and it would have been a waste for history to have bulldozed them out of existence. If your son takes a trip up to Wilson Battlefield near Springfield MO he will be able to see one of the best preserved battlefields in the western theater of the War Between the States. They have a good Museum there also.

I have just joined today, I am ex Merchant Navy and Royal Air Force served in that for 23 years and now I am retired and living in Brussels Belgium.
I have been over to the States four times now and have become very interested in your history, so I guess that just about covers it and of course I have worked very closely with USAF over the years, whilst serving.
I am looking forward to many happy hours looking through this fine site. :)

Glad you're here with us Poly and see your up mighty early to join in.
Hmmmmm? 2:31 AM Eastern Standard Time = 8:31 AM Brussels. You'll need a good night sleep to deal with some of the great folks here but pipe in anytime.
Psy', send Jerry down to Fayetteville and I'll be happy to show him around some of the sites where the War of Northern Aggression came to its ill fated conclusion.

psywarone,
Welcome aboard - sorry I missed this thread earlier. Glad to have you onboard. I worked with a Korean Vet at my last job. His job was to string wire for communications. All he talks about is how cold it was there.

[QUOTE In a building with heat, didn't get cold unless I went outside [/QUOTE]
Heat, building!!! Hell fire, I musta been in the wrong war!!!
As said, IT WAS COLD, at 30 below, 14 hrs., from dusk to dawn, in a fox hole, without a top on it as the gooks would of had a field day, lobbing mortars at it if they saw one with a top on it.
and COLD IS JUST PLAIN COLD!!!!!!! No other was to describe it!
Was there last April west of the Punchbowl and Chunchon. Finished my "vacation" 1/29/52 when they were nice enough to let me get my butt outa Dodge!! :ae:
