:ah: Found the Patriot site, looking for veterans new year resolutions etc etc
I’ll introduce myself… Born bred Aussie and served in Vietnam
I was on the Australian Ship HMAS VENDETTA during 1969-1971 and member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club etc. Semi retired but have a claim in with the DVA for a number of ailing health reasons.
Anyway I would like to wish everyone stamina, strength and endurance in the coming new year - so that you can achieve the goals you wish for yourself and I wish for a better and peaceful world we live in for all :xx:
Take care and be safe :)
Will be back soon :ae:
Welcome.. Happy New Year to you as well.. You will find alot of great men and women around here.. you might have to watch out for a few..but they are all good people..

I went to Sydney for R&R in Aug 1970. It was a little cold but I had a blast. Very nice folks.

Welcome aboard Matey.
VN vets. are right at home here so let me be one of the first to say "welcome home brother" to you. Glad you're here with us and iffen there's anythin' we can do for youze, let us know.
I never made it down under when I was accross the pond so many years ago and wish that I had the buck$$$ or pound$$$$$$$$$ to take an R&R in a country where English was the native tongue and had round eyed girls. The Aussies put theirselves right there in the midst of it and deserve all the respect they can get.
If you ever choose to come over this way you'ld probably find that spring time in Ellijay, Georgia, C.S.A. was a great time to be here and those on the mountain accept all accents.

Your missing the point of my post. For the record …. I don’t know what FNG means in the land down under but here it stands for F&*kin’ New Guy, of which you are here on the PF, and that brings me back to the original point of my post which you seem to have glossed over and that is SuperScout is an old and well respected member of The Patriot Files and that makes you the Yobbo, joe blow. You have nothing to fear of SS and if you don’t want him contacting you when he gets to Australia then just say so instead of questioning his bonafides and motives.

You don't have to worry about Brice (SuperScout) He's harmless (unless you're a kangaroo) I know many people here have thrown out inuendos about my sexual behavior, but I must warn you about other members and their fetish for 4 legged creatures or ones that hop

Well, g'day, mate! Welcome to the PF site, but beware of b3196, aka bOOger. Normally, he's perfectly harmless, if properly medicated, but has a tendency to pretend that his medicine pills are of some revolting waste matter, bragging how he can eat anything.
Served with the Aussie Cav Squadron in 1967; had to use the LT's sergeant as my interpretor! They were still wearing the 'roo leather boots, and suffering mightily from immersion foot. I sent one of my best scrounging sergeants back to the rear area to 'obtain' some of our jungle boots, and upon gifting them to my counterpart, was invited to share in some of their best beer!
Am planning on an Aussie trip this year, to visit my brother who lives in Adelaide. Probably will fly into Alice Springs, then hop a railroad ride south.

Since most of us don't understand the Aussie patois, and since this IS an American site, you just might have to learn some of our language. In our terminology, you are an FNG, so get used to it.
Frankly, after reading some of your remarks, I could care less what your telephone number is.

Stone the flamin' Crows...why would you flyinto Alice Springs... Adelaide Airport is a International one you know... Not as big as Sydney or Los Angeles though.. I live in Adelaide :ag: :xx: :ag:

Stone the flamin crows! this IS a very interesting forum... So far there is one (FGN) dingbat or I should say a Gallah which certainly has a firm grip on the donger... the rest of the mob here are cobbers and mates :xx::xx:
i bet there will be some chewing the fat here now
Well I'm off for now... Cheerio and Ooroo :ag::z:

It's a little benefit we retired ol' farts have, called Space A or Space Available flights, compliments of the US Air Force. If I read the flight schedule correctly, we leave from California, fly to Hawaii, RON, then off to Pago Pago, another RON, then to Christchurch, NZ, another RON, and finally into Alice Springs. Virtually free ride. And the breaks in the trip, rather than flying non-stop, are much easier on the body.sa If I can just carry my golf sticks, I'll be able to play in some of the best spots in the world!
Send me some data via pm about your tellie, and maybe we can link up in Australia.

DD,
SuperScout has been a member of the PF since God knows when. Your the FNG so be a little careful calling people joe blow/Yobbo. If SS asked you to send a PM then rest assured that your info will not be broadcast all over the WWW.

Joe blow is anyone I don't know :aj:
Yobbo is a person to me with no values at all until I know him:rolleyes:
In Aussieland... FNG means something completely different to YOUR terminology... so I would say "be a little careful calling" our lingo is DIFFERENT as well as your slang:x:

Glad you are on the site. Went to Aurstraila for an R&R my third tour of duty in Nam. I think Oct 1972 when I went. Loved Sydney, and the Kings Cross area of Sydney.

Does anyone else have any problems with this thread?? :r:
If I read the thread from beginning to end it does not make sense, as some of the posts are not in the correct order of answering
I do have my time zone set at the correct place so I don't know, what the problem is :r: :r:

Yes, I have a problem with the thread.
82Rigger,
Yup, I was aware that Austin TX is a 'sister city' with Adelaide. But I try to stay away from Austin as much as I can! Too many of the whiners and snivelers crowd there.....

superscout...Sorry for being defensive before but I dont trust a yoke from it's shell... Anyway, i've been here 8 to 10 wks now and you all appear sane and so I will offer a gesture to you all.
If you do come down under you can stay at my house (I dont believe I'm saying this) so as we can get to know each and one of us personnally (not intimately)... so give me a Cooeeeeee! if your coming down under.
Adelaide has got the BEST wine yards around and some very scary places
We are the Capitol of the world for murders (compared to population)
You can let me know if you are interested,... i'll scratch your back but you better return the favour if I and my wife venture in the STATES
