Description:
(USAF) David M. Harp, originally from Ashburn, Georgia served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1971. He flew C-46s out of Japan during the Korean War and, in 1959, flew 145 combat spy missions over Korea as an Intelligence Operations Officer. In 1961, David took part in Project HILO-HATTIE, flying 76 secret intelligence-gathering missions over Southeast Asia. In 1968, he was sent to South Vietnam to take part in Operation RANCH HAND, where he flew 59 missions out of Bien Hoa in C-123s. After his tour ended in 1969, David was sent to Langley AFB, Virginia, where he retired from the USAF in 1971. Interview conducted by Richard B. Verrone, Ph.D.

(USAF) Wilson M. Harrison, originally from Richton, Mississippi, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 until 1993. He served various tours in Southeast Asia as a C130 Crew Chief between 1966 and 1975. Flying out of Yokota and Tachakawa, Japan, Wilson, served with the 834th ALD, 6091st Reconnaissance Detachment, the 6220th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and the 556th Reconnaissance Squadron. In 1975, flying out of the Philippines, he assisted in the evacuation of South Vietnam. Interview conducted by Richard Verrone.

(USA) David Hause served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He served as a door gunner, Crew Chief, and Aircraft Mechanic with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. During Operation Lam Son 719, his unit kept Highway 9 open to Khe Sanh and took over the DMZ base camps (outposts A-1, etc...) His area of operations included the South China Sea to Laos and from the Perfume River in Hue to the DMZ. Interview conducted by Stephen Maxner.

Description:
(Civilian) Helen Tennant Hegelheimer was born in Fontana CA in 1944. After graduating from high school in San Leandro CA in 1962 Helen briefly attended college before taking a job with World Airways, first in administration and then as a stewardess. In 1966 and 1967 she flew on hundreds of troop transport flights in and out of the United States, Japan, and Vietnam, including Danang, Ton Son Nhut/Saigon, and Bien Hoa. Helen maintained contact with many of the servicemen while they were in-country. She has remained active in Vietnam veterans' affairs, and she was an invited speaker at the Vietnam Women's Memorial in Washington DC in 1997.
