The debates should be on the issues, not the past. I don't agree with the swift boats argument, If what they say about Kerry is true, then a complete overhaul of the system for which metals are given out is needed, but that has nothing to do with the issues that face a president. I also don't agree with Moores movie.
Whats the answer, Im not sure, But the road we are heading leads to nowhere. I don't want a criminal as president but I don't want someone that has never left the house either, People do stupid things at times. What you didn't mention is the number of times you drove drunk and just not caught. That has nothing to do with the issues, and Id vote for James as president.

Thanks Ron, but then I'd have to work
I struggled with alcohol and drugs for much of my early life, and thats no secret--every July 4th I proudly put down my AA birthday--28 last time, clean and sober.
But I'm not running for presiodent and if I did, I'd sure realize that my opponents would be using that against me.
I'm the first to admit that Ive striuggled with substance abuse over ythe years--just like Bush and Cheney. But I'll admit it--theyt won't.
They say they like to run on their record. Well here's the record:
George W Bush: :D :D 1 DUI :D :D
Richard Cheney: :D :D 2 DUIs :D :D
John Kerry: NO DUIs
John Edwards: NO DUIs

Ive put smileyfaces to help the other side feel better about it but theyre still DUIs but with happyfaces around them

Have a good one, stay safe!!

RIGHT-ON...Ron.

Well, when only bringing up that: "Nothing to do with The Issues" bit, and certainly not with whom you would jokingly vote for president. A Wartime Commander-In-Chief and Wartime Leaders should never be joked about or nationally and worldwide called: "A LIARS" or even as here: "Drunks". Such demoralizes most Americans and America's Troops,...while simultaneously giving great comfort and great satisfaction to OUR MANY enemies worldwide, whom just love hearing such a lack of unity about their avowed enemies. "They" must ALSO be laughing-their-asses-off, in that we quite stupidly call ourselves The UNITED States of America? The last time We were this UNITED,...was during Our Civil War.

Besides, the only times Dems/Libs/Leftists ever want to discuss The Issues (and quite whiningly at that), are when cornered and being debunked by truths, anyway. So, why ease up on the pressure and let such off-the-hook so easily? Go for the jugular.

Also, and on that DUI nonsense, it's all easily understandable. After all, and going as far back as Arkansas for The Clinton Era, everyone knows that Protestor Types like both Clinton and Kerry had very little use for alcohol, and no doubt why: "Mary Jane", "Loco weed" or Marijuana, topped-off with a little; "Coke" now an then, were the highs of choice for those on The Public Payroll.

Plus, and unless caught driving with a sack of: "Wacky-Tobacky" on the front seat or powder all over ones nose,...such DUIs are quite difficult to even recognize, much less prosecute. It's no wonder that Kerry and fellow wanting to: "Recapture The White House" Edwards APPEAR so squeeky-clean. Fortunately people know that APPEARANCES don't mean diddly-squat, as The Clintons/Kennedy/Kerry Party proved/proves BEST.

Gimpy and James.......by your own criteria, neither one of you is "Fit" to hold public office. By the same token, neither one of you is "Fit" to criticize someone who had the same life style that you did in their early years. Kinda like the "Pot calling the kettle, Black" isn't it?

Gimpy 08-26-2004 10:59 AM

Nope

Cause I AIN'T running for leader of the free world!

And, I've "come clean" with all my indiscretions and errors in judgement. George Double-U Bush has NOT!

He is STILL causing PAIN & SUFFERING with his actions and character flaws!

Nice try Smurph............but you need to go back and try something else! :D

Dr. James

Thanks ever so much for your wonderful cyber-diagnosis! It must be so wonderful to have such gifts, to diagnose your patients and not having to bother without (1) seeing them, (2) billing TriCare for Life for payments, and (3) having no credentials in the first place. And you're completely correct: just because I was not "sensitive" in my martial conduct in Vietnam, when I should have been so sensitive, the proper prescription for winning the war against terrorists, according to that expert in counter-terrorist actions, John Kerry, and have suffered so greatly. This lack of being "sensitive" is obvioiusly the cause of all my unhappiness, angst, dandruff, and toenail fungus.

I will diligently try this new treatment, of being so sensitive, so as not to see people as they truly are, but to see them as they pretend to be, thereby qualifying me for the Most Sensitive Man of the 21st Century.

I know its way to late and to much has been said, but, For what its worth, I would say, be the bigger man, unless you just like twisting the knife. Democrats are living in there own world, akin to toon town, You can't reason with a cartoon, except, Da, Da, Da, Dats all folks.
