I could never figure out why the 4th and the 25th did the "unit switch". Was it because it was easier to just change a patch then move whole brigades to different AO's ??????????

3/5th Cav came over as the Cav Squadron of the 9th Inf , sent up north during Tet 68. I wore the 9th patch on my left shoulder till May 71 . Then we were part of 1/5 Mech and I wore a Red Diamond on my left shoulder , then they went home and I wore the puking buzzard on my left shoulder.. Years later I was assigned to Ft Campbell and wore eagles on both shoulders

There were 3 BRGs of the 25th and 3 BRGs of the 4th at that time.
2 BRGs of the 4th were in northern 2 corps and one BRG was in the southern part of 2 corps.
2 BRGs of the 25th were in the southern part of 2 corps and one BRG was in the northen are of 2 corps.
They wanted to consolodate the DIVs so instead of moving all of the 25th 3rd BRG south and the 4th 3rd BRG north, they just changed shoulder patches and now the 25th was in southern 2 corps and the 4th was in northern 2 corps. Magic??? The only sencible thing I ever seen the Army do.

Ron...so how did you end up in Hue? I can not find any record of the 4th or the 25th being in Hue during, before or after Tet of 68.

I wasn't in Hue. We were attached to some 101st Company that was in the New city of Hue, We were to be a flanking force between Hue and Phu Bi . The closest I got to Hue was a cannel bridge where some Marines were. I could see Hue but never went there.

Bob...I always wondered what that little button was for....I sit and stare at it and say "C*H*E*C*K*" and nothing happens. Once I even did it with my eyes closed and still nothing. Kept thinking I was in on some kind of prize drawing or something.

I was ready to seek a lawyer and sue David and Bern, I thought they were having some kind of contest, my lawyer finally explained it to me. Boy talk about false advertisement! wrecked my whole day!
