Sold them down the tube is not quite accurate. When we left in 72 we gave them all the Cavs helos and the mecs APCs and the armored units tanks and the artillery units artillery peaces and all the boats and all the planes and all the ammo we had, all they had do do was use there drug money to but parts and more ammo, The ARVN army was at 1,000,000 man strength with all the parts and peaces we left. Somehow it became our fault they didn't have the will to win on there own, You (we) can only hold there hand for so long.

I hear what your saying but if they didn't have the pilots trained to man all those helo's we left, trained tankers to man all those tanks, it didn't mean anything. Also, I can't believe we left them all the AF jets from Tan Sa Nute, Marine and Navy jets from Da Nang and all the carriers at sea, B-52's from Guam and Tailand, Battleships, Destroyers, etc. The South Vietnamese continued to beat the NVA until we pulled our air support in 1975. Then the NVA broke the "treaty" and piled across the border with every tank, jet, whatever that the Soviets and Chinese could muster. It was only after we quit all the air support did the NVA dare to cross the border in such strength. I don't remember fighting any tanks in Tay Ninh Province but I remember a shit load of them taking over Saigon. I agree that you can only hold somebody's hand so long, but to leave them equipped to fight a certain kind of war, with our air, then say...."well we changed our minds, lotsa luck, hope the NVA don't come down in strength" and expect them to win is not feasable.

The NVA had, what, compared to what we left the South. Nothin.
The South had no will and the NVA were much better fighters with virtually nothin to fight with. We Left the SVN army thats for sure, but we left them with way more than the NVA had and with more manpower. Our guys gave 58,000 GIs lives to protect the South , if they can't continue without our support well, thats just to bad. Instead of corruption maybe a little of the money that went to foreign banks could have gone to buy supplies or ammo, but then F- the asshole bastards. we done all we could and it was there turn to step up.

Thats an opinion and you are certainly welcome to it, I didn't say anything to him until he said "your pathetic outlook", You know that would set me off.All I said to you was to make a choice, you can choose his side if you want and you wont even hit an all time low, what ever that is. Its easy sitting on the side lines and not taking sides, its more difficult when the taking of a side is what you have to do. So Then, BOB, which side do you choose,
