This is the way of America--once we dominated maufacturing, we were the industrial powerhouse. Now, most our manufactured goods are maxde overseas. Once we had a shoe industry, a textile industry, a clothing industry, a steel industry, a shipmaking industry.

Along with our astronomical Republican budget deficit, we're also running a an astronomical trade deficit--this is unsustainable--we can't keep paying out more than we take in forever.

The US? current economic trajectory is unsustainable in the long run. The domestic economy is dependant on foreign capital to finance consumption beyond our production. The US government has issued over $550 billion dollars in net new debt per year for the last 4 years, indicating the budget deficit is not under control in any meaningful way. The US consumer has taken on an enormous amount of debt to finance the latest economic expansion. In other words, debt saturates every level of the economy to a harmful degree.

Are you better off now than you were 6 years ago? Undoubtedly not
