Usn ratings
 I was talking to a few of the Australian lads the other day, and I was explaining to them that whenever we berthed alongside a US warrie, it was amusing to hear pipings for "ice cream vendor tender to your station",
and also the piping for the" quarter deck sweeper to man your broom ...sweep fore and aft etc...etc..and that they had an actual rating on their uniform to reflect what they did which brings me to ask, has anyone heard of any more "flamboyant" pipes from our yankee mates..I reckon there would be a few more out there Any USN rating can come fwd and give me some more detail please and it does not matter what year or decade ...any info will help Cheers from Down Under DeadlyDaring |

Thans david for the Link :) but I am after pipe messages that were said on the US Ships ....like "liberty call pipe - Now hear this now hear this, Liberty call sections one and three, to expire Monday morning 0700"
"General Quarter, all hands man your battle station, all hands man your battle station, this is a drill this is a drill" - then followed by some sort of short blasts of a horn "Clear the bridge, clear the bridge, Dive Dive Dive" sounded with a claxonbell/horn sound Can anyone on hear remember some of the pipe messages and lots more Also does anyone know how to upload sound to a forum Cheers DeadlyDaring |
