The Face of My Enemy

I just got another terrific Tim Page photo book, this one is combat pictures taken from the other side. It's called: "Another Vietnam--pictures of the war from the other side"
I don't think one can appreciate the tremendous effort and dedication it took on the other side untill you look at this book--these were the faces of the people we fought--this was mine enemy. I encourage everyone to at least look at this book--I got mine in Barnes and Noble for $19. I'll post a few pictures that struck me--I don't have a flatface scanner--these were taken by my digital so the quality could be better These were the hard core MFs I saw up too close |

How did we think we could beat these people? Yeah we were beaten by a nation of farmers---but who says farmers can't be incredibly tough, sophisticated people?

"Asigned to a team of young women who deactivated delayed fuse bombs dropped by US planes, this teenager was killed the day after this image was made. 'There was nothing left' recalls the photographer 'not even flesh. Nothing except pieces of clothing scattered around'"
