Apathy and complacency are two of the surest routes to national oblivion! And if you doubt this analogy, then once again, I invite you to do a little research into past world history! And if you dispute the bottom line here, then I put it to you that your memory must be about as long as the tip of your nose?

To Hell with all of these foreign nations – you pretty well know by now what they are all about! And also dismiss all of these so-called friendlies, as today’s friendlies are often tomorrows’ foes, once again as history will attest! And if this makes me sometimes a man of distrust, then once again let me remind you that too much trust has often led to the very doorsteps of armed conflict and mayhem, once again, as world history has proven!

The only foreign entity, in my opinion, that you can truly count upon (as nations go) is your own. And even at that, not every soul that you encounter (even domestically) is going to be in accord all of the time!

I recall this compilation as a kid. It's a poem all of us new back them.

First we got the bomb and that was good
Cause we love peace and motherhood
Then Russia got the bomb, but that's O.K
Cause the balance of power's maintained that way!
