Wedding reception

I know it's a tradition for the bride and groom to cut the wedding cake with a sword, but the only one I have is not a US military type. Does anyone know where I could get a Navy cutlass without spending a small fortune? Thanks!

If you live near a university, check if they have either a Navy or Army ROTC department. Any saber in storm will do!

You may want to check with Dixie Gun Works. At a time they had some USN Civil War boarding saber replicas. And seems as if the enlisted Horse Cav saber of the early 1900s is similar in appearance but obviously of a weaker metal. But for cake cutting it will most likely hold up, maybe. ;)

Check with local re-enactment groups. They all have swords of some type.
