Click on [some interesting information] and be prepared to find out anything on The War .If you keep and open mind, and read articles that give perspectives from the southern view, you can have a much better appreciation of the sacrifices on both sides by the men who fought it.

The trans-Missisippi units included Ark.Mo,La,Texas,N.M.,and the Indian Nation[okla].

Here is a URL relating to an issue here in the Georgia/South Carolina Area It involves a Memorial to American Soldiers on the River Walk in Augusta, GA . Here in Georgia we have a State law stating that Memorials, and Private Displays (includeing those with the Confederate Battle Flag ) are protected by State Law from Desecration and or removal. The Mayor of Augusta took down the 2nd National Confederate Flag from the Riverwalk Memorial because the Augusta Chapter of the NAACP asked him. here is the URL to the Video of todays News clip(WJBF NewsCHANNEL 6) if you all care to watch it from Augusta Georgia. http://spofga.org/flag/2004/oct/more...flagging.phtml
