Senator Reid

Yesterday said the president doesn't have the right to take military action against Iran without Congressional approval.
Does Senator Reid not know what powers the president has.
The president can send our military anywhere he wishes for 60 without congress approval. It is called the war powers act. and any one of three conditions have to exist.

"This section provides that the President is not allowed to send U.S. troops into combat unless Congress specifically gives advance approval; the only exception is if the President is responding to a national emergency created by an attack on U.S. territory or on U.S. armed forces .11 Even then, the President must report to Congress immediately and then "terminate any use" of the troops within 60 days unless Congress specifically approves of further action. "

I put in bold the part that would give him the right to go into Iran with troops. There are Iranian soldiers attacking US armed forces right now in Iraq. It would be a simple matter of gathering evidence of the Iranian soldier to Iran and he could invade.
All this being said, The president has no intention of sending any troops into Iran. That would not be a wise move, the Iranian people , for the most part , like Americans.
So if a strike against Iran was in the plan, it would be with technology not people.
So Unless the president was planing to send TROOPS into Iran, even the above section would not apply.

There's nothing that says the president, as commander in chief, can't order a strike against a country anytime he choses.

Now a sane person would ask, why did you do that, and a good answer would have to follow. The American people and the media would then be in favor or not of the action.
