Slang names for enemy soldiers

The Brits called the Germans "Jerry". The Germans called the Brits "Tommy". We called the Germans "Krauts". Did the Germans have a general nickname for US GIs? Only one I've ever heard of is "Amis". Isn't that French?

All of my uncles and older cousins were WWII vets and that's what the called the enemy (Krauts, Japs, Nips, Jerrys, Dagos, Wops, etc.) but they usually prefixed them "F*ckin'"!

I do believe the general term for the Amis was "Yanks", and I know the Brits called us that.

The Germans would call our Sherman tanks "Ronsons", after the lighter of the same name, for how the tank would explode and catch fire when hit by much superior German armor.
