I'm 55 years old and went into the Army when I was 18. I served from Oct.'65 - Oct.'68. Last duty station, QuiNhon RSVN. My Brother-in-Law is 49 years old, 6 years younger than me and claims that he served in the Marines in Laos on the Ho-Chi-Minh. Is this possible? Is there somewhere on the web that I can check on someones service record if I have a name and SS#? Don't want to call someone a liar if it might be a fact but I also know that the man is full of $hit on a lot of what he says. His sister, my wife pointed that out to me.

If your brother-in-law (6 years younger) joined at 18 as you did, such would mean that he could have been in VN at about 1973,...which and since U.S. bailing-out in 1975 makes his being on The Ho-Chi-Min Trail a-sort-of-possibility. But then, and even though anything is possible, I'm sure you know whether the family BS'er can be believed, much better than I ever will.

Ask simple question, what tribe ( Lao name) and if highland or lowland tribe, how did he get in and out?

The only US military left in South Vietnam after March 29th 1973 was the Marine guard at the US Embassy.

If he is a wanna-be, there are lots of places on the web that can check on him or help you check.

Correct me if I am wrong someone, BUT does the Ho-Chi Minh trail go into Laos??

We as Vietnam Vets werent allowed into Laos ( by govt law), but some still went.

I amnot to savy about that kind of thing since I was Navy, But something dont add up "even for a pre school".

As most of you know I found out my Son in law is also a wannbe and found out the hard way that he is nothing but a bald faced liar.
