Jill Biden Wears Navy Peplum Jacket to Honor Fallen Soldiers at Korean War Memorial on Veterans Day

Jill Biden and her husband, President-elect Joe Biden attended a service at the Philadelphia Korean War Memorial to honor fallen soldiers on Veterans Day.

For the occasion, Jill wore a navy blue peplum jacket that was belted around the waist. She paired it with a skirt of the same hue and a teal satin blouse underneath. The educator accessorized with pearl earrings and delicate gold necklaces.

Biden opted for a navy suit, which he wore with a red and blue tie. Both the president-elect and future first lady wore face masks amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

During their visit, Biden and his wife placed a wreath at the war memorial. They were joined by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

Last week, Jill and the president-elect celebrated his victory in his hometown of Wilmington, Del. After her husband’s victory speech, Jill stepped out on stage in a navy floral vine dress by Oscar de la Renta.

The embroidered dress was an ode to former presidents’ wives as De le Renta designed Jackie Kennedy’s peach gown that she wore on a state visit to India in 1962 and Hillary Clinton’s inaugural ball gown in 1997.

The fashion house congratulated Biden’s win and shared a photo of Jill’s ensemble on Instagram. “Today we congratulate our president elect Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Jill Biden, standing beside, wears a navy floral vine dress by Oscar de le Renta,” the fashion house captioned the post.

Jill paired the victory night dress with a matching mask and Jimmy Choo’s Katience pumps.

Of Jill’s Jimmy Choo moment, the brand’s creative director Sandra Choi told FN: “It is a huge honor when someone chooses to wear Jimmy Choo and even more so when it is connected to such an important moment in history, they are pinch yourself moments.”
