POW camps in US

I can't seem to find anything out about a POW camp located at Julesburg, CO. I've searched the web high and low. Does anyone here know anything about it.

Two books you might find useful are "Nazi Prisoners of War in America" by Arnold Krammer and "The Barbed-Wire College: Reeducating German Pows in the United States During World War II" by Ron Robin.

Hey Marcus, welcome aboard!

We had german POWs in, of all places, Camp Crowder in Neosho, MO... about 10 miles from where I was born.

What/when was your service, your job, if you don't mind saying? Not that one has to have had any, we just enjoy learning about that sort of thing.

Seems like you have knowledge of military history, always welcome here!

Hi Marcus!

Yes, Marcus has an extensive knowledge of WWII history.
I popped in here and look who posted! I guess it is a small world after all.

Speaking of Colorado, I was stationed at Ft. Carson (hence, the 4th ID patch) and I remember reading about a camp near Denver that held the "incorrigibles" those who would not or could not adapt to camp life.

Don't know if it was Julesburg though.

Thanks for the welcome.

I notice btw that one of my posts was removed, which rule did it violate? Is links to WW2 sites not allowed here?

The same rule I apparently violated when I posted this website url to your website about a year ago Marcus.

I don't recall any such post being removed, nor can I find it in the archive for removed threads.
Threads on other websites in my forum are normally moved to the Related Websites section or (if they are off topic) to the Lounge, so I can't see why a link to this site would have been removed.

A quick look in the forum revealed at least one (non-removed) thread with a link to this site, but I guess this post would get deleted if I posted a link to it.

Either way, this is not my forum so I'll do my best to follow the rules, just let me know which one I violated.

I did, but I'm still wondering which rule I violated so I can be sure not to violate it again in the future.
