Hello

Just wanted to say how happy I am to be here.. I love military history and had no idea that The Patriot Files was here. This is like.. Christmas came early.

I am sure I will learn so much here and hopefully be able to contribute something of value to you all as well.

My Dad served as Medical Officer for Orde Wingate from 1943 on, so I have books related to that. One set is "The Second Great War" edited by John Hammerton, Military Editor, Michael Gwynne. I have Volumes 1 though 7 (I think there were 9 in total). They are British but there are alot of photos of Americans and Allied forces who served in all theatres, all services, maps, patches, insignia, color plates, uniforms, war art. If any are looking for anything specific, please do not hesitate to ask and I will look and see, scan, and send.

I have the Gravel edition of the Pentagon Papers if anyone needs a reference lookup, etc. Happy to do it.

One thing that is up on the web now (my Dad's remembrance page) that may be of interest is the text of a lecture given by Calvert at St. Mary's Hospital in London in 1969. It's on the history of Jungle Medicine from WW2 through to his involvement with the SAS. I have it because it was very thoughtfully sent to me by a British Chindit.. It's here:

I host, make graphics, html, etc. for Simply Southeast Asia (www.glanmore.org) which is all veteran content, memorial sites, pernars. It is the simple truth to say that the domain would not exist if it weren't for for the Chindits, the historian for the Merrill's Marauder's Association and VietNam vets. I have been blessed.

This place is Great! - and The Patriot Files has "everything" I am interested in... it's amazing!!! Love it.

Thanks again.

Anne
