Snow in the World's Snowiest Mountains

Snoqualmie Pass Seperates Eastern Washington from Western Washington. I-90 from (Seattle Area) North Bend, WA to Ellensburg, WA has be shut down for almost four straight days. The Cascade Range has received 5 feet of new snow in the last five days.

I-90 is the main East - West route in Washington.

Take a look.

Someone should e-mail that link to Al Gore. Global warming? Tell that to the people driving the plows.

I drove truck this week - three days.

I drove truck this week - three days. They had a real good snow storm in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla on Sunday and Monday of this week. I was making deliveries in Tri-Cities and Walla Walla. They drive just as bad in Snow as the West Siders. Yesterday I was again down to Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities, the snow is almost gone. Driving a lot easier.

The Pass finally opened this Morning (SAT FEB 3) after being shut down most of the week.
Now another Big Storm is coming through. I wonder how long Snoqualmie will stay open? I read an article that Mt Rainier and Mt Baker above 6,000 ft are on course to establish new World Records for snow fall in a year. This sure has been a snowy year in the Cascades. Like the Washington Dept. of Transportation says: "we are now measuring snow depth in feet not inches."

Snowqualmie Pass is why I always waited till March to even think of taking leave when I was stationed in Tacoma. I felt sorry for the guy in the Suburu Forester that got hit by the avalanche and was pushed across the lanes of traffic plus he was very lucky too ! You all take care driving with all that record snow fall.

My brother told me that Yakima didn't get any, just Ellensburg and the Tri-Cities. I told him, "That's just more proof that Yakima isn't cool."

Keith, Spokane has gotten over 5' of snow so far this season, and it's snowing tonight. It's the 4th snowiest winter on record. A good initiation for my first winter back here in 10yrs. They've had several consecutive mild winters here, so alot of people are whining. Not me, though. This is how I remember wintertime here when I had to work out in it. I am getting tired of lifting it over my head when I shovel my driveway, though. Next year I'll have a snowblower and I don't care if we only get 2 snowflakes :D.

I keep forgetting there is a Tricities on the west coast too. Here it is Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol (also Jonesborough, Elizabethton, Blountville, Erwin, Greenevile and Bluff City). Sounds like Australia is one big swamp. We are in a drought here but had a ton of rain in the last couple of days.
