Greg's Home!!

After several changes, we finally got word that my son Greg and his battalion would be arriving at Camp Mabry in Austin TX, around 2030 hrs Wednesday! We were there, along with other soldiers' families, the 36th Infantry Divison Band, and my son's Boy Scout Troop, in uniform! As the 2IC, Greg marched his battalion into an auditorium since the CO had been detained elsewhere. And ol' Dad was about to pop with pride!

A short ceremony of Welcome Home, and Greg dismissed the troops and then the wonderful greetings began!

Welcome Home, 636th MI Battalion - Job Well Done, and Mission Accomplished.

So, where are the pictures?

It is always a great day when we welcome our children home safe after a deployment. :D

Thanks, All

I genuinely appreciate all the kind words of welcome home for my son. He's had a week to decompress, and now it's time to spend some time with him, this Saturday, dining on one of his specialties, shrimp scampi, and watching the University of Texas win the Big Twelve Championship game, and then on to the National Championship game, where we'll beat the University of Alabama. [fingers crossed!]

From some of the stories he's already related to me, I'm going to encourage him to start collecting all the data he can and then publish a book - it already sounds better than a Tom Clancy novel!

Thanks again for all that supported him and his battalion in Afghanistan.
