I was in Asheville (NC) yesterday and saw something you'd love: '67
Chevelle SS, 396 cu, 2 dual line 780 Holly 4 brls, 4 in the floor,
burgundy w/button and tuck black leather interior, completely
refurbished.

I hope I didn't get any drool on it.

There was a time I would have for sure, but lately I am thinking of
just getting an older Mercedes Diesel or a Humvee and getting rid of
everything else. Unless I run into one of those two wheeled deals that
have the power train in the wheels or something and a little platform
you stand on. Push forward, go forward, push back go back. Probably
bust my ass, but they look like fun anyway.

Got rid of the bus last week.

Well, it was nice to look at. I'd hate to pay for the gas if that
second 4 brl kicked in much though. My section head at Lejeune had one
(an E-5 bought it when he got back from VN in mid '67). When we were
busy at the shop and didn't take time to go to the mess hall at lunch
he'd hand one of us the keys and say "go get us something to eat". It
was always a pleasure.
