Damn, I thought they'd fixed this crap.

<DIV align=left>Hack,

Been on the road a bit, but here is a Sit Rep.

1) Individual SF Soldiers are doing an excellent job at the Team level in the war despite complete incompetence at SOCCENT and CENTCOM by senior level commanders.

2) SF Team guys predicted the bad guys' run for the borders both in the initial battle as well as in Anaconda. Of course higher level commands did not have the experience to see it nor the intelligence to listen to those with the expertise. It is rumored some of the high level CDR's at SOCCENT &amp; CENTCOM were having to read about UW ops from manuals due to ignorance of the subject and lack of Special Ops experience. Thanks Bill Clinton!

3) Much of the equipment requested by SF Teams before and while in "the box" never made it to them. It was either HEISTED (yes stolen) by the conventional troops at staging areas (i.e.10th) or was scarfed up by SF staff and support troops in the rear. Nothing like coming back from the box and seeing all the staff weenies and support types running around with the gear on that you requested for your mission but never received

4) The 5.56 ammo still sucks. It does not do the job. This was the case in Somalia and it has not changed. Maybe some officer with the horsepower AND continuity will fix this someday.

5) 9mm is not very effective either. How about a 1911 .45?

6) The current issue uniforms might be great if we ever fight the Taliban in Europe, but they do not cut it in this theater. We have the B-1, B-2, cruise missles, and the pretator but we do not have a uniform that is appropriate for the current Theater

7) During intermission we are going to switch out all of our BN and Company CDR's. I guess officer career development takes priority over combat readiness and continuity.

8) The SEAL's still suck on the land. They cannot navigate, plan a mission, or conduct UW to save themselves, but they have lot's of money and look great. Somehow despite these minor shortcomings they keep getting missions in (a land locked) theater. Oh yeah, that's right, the SOCCENT CDR is a SEAL. Maybe that is why.

Keep up the good work!

A Team Guy
