Personal Honor

Once upon a time, personal honor was a man’s (or a woman’s) greatest possession!
Duels were fought, wars were begun, and even families were torn asunder over the question of honor, or honesty if you prefer. “But apparently, that was then, and this is now?”

Personal honor has lost much of its luster within today’s society, at least as far as I am concerned! And with it, truth as well has become all but a lost art, regardless of the level of society that one haunts. As a matter of fact, the proficient liar is now treated (in many cases) on the same level as a national hero once was. So much so in fact that those who lack honor, truthfulness, or any of the other virtues that once defined a man’s true worth, are now voted to be “The most likely to succeed?”

“So what happened to us?” Has the book of acceptable human behavior been totally rewritten? And why is it that what was once considered to be abominations, are now applauded by those who have abandoned those things that were once considered manly and worth striving for – or don’t enough of you people even care anymore?

“Remember” - Many an American has fought for, bled for, and even died for those values that “Our Nation” was founded upon – “So Ask Thee Not For Whom The Bell Now Tolls?”

“AND THESE THINGS REALLY NEEDED TO BE SAID, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION!!”
