A moggie who was rescued from a dustbin as a kitten is celebrating his 33rd birthday and a new record as Britain's oldest cat alive. Whiskey has been through nine lives and 231 cat years, and only has a few grey whiskers to show for it. The black and white moggie beats the previous oldest pussy, Spike, who went to feline heaven in 2001 at 31. Officially, the oldest cat in the world is 27. Guinness World Records says Whiskey could be the new record holder. After they get those statements, Whiskey could enter the record books and take the crown from the Burmese moggie, called Kataleena Lady, who holds the record at the moment. She was born on 11 March 1977 and currently lives in sunny Melbourne, Australia. |
