Greetings

Hello, All,
Name here is Jon.
No war hero here.
Entered the Army Dec 14 1967. One month before my 18th birthday.
Basic at Ft Lewis, WA
Infantry AIT at Ft ORD, CA
Jump School at Ft Benning, GA
MOS 11B1P
As an 18 and half year old PFC, I reported to Special Forces Training Group July 1968.
Graduated from SFTG May 1969 as SPC 4, MOS O5B2S. Yes in those days 2 was E4, and 4 was E5.
Assigned to the 7th SFG June 1969 and there I sat until I ETS'd Dec 1970.
No combat, just stuck at Bragg picking up pine cones.

"Greetings", Jon.

Re: "No combat",...just count your blessings. I did & still do. Seeing that about: "LZ-Exray" movie certainly reinforced my contention & belief.

Also, and as 3 year Aggressors/Op-Forces for the 10th Infantry Division in West Germany
(one of our jobs), got to see first hand how fiddle-f--cked-up things could get in The Field,
without any REAL AMMO being fired, and with nary a scratch nor blood expended.

Whether as Recon Company or Troop, more blood was actually lost in German Gasthauses.
Standard greeting to others of: "If not Recon you're s--t" is no way to make new friends. ;);)

Ironically, The Brass just loved such. Consider such brainwashings great espri-de-corps.
When only a short while in Germany CO egged some Bird Colonel sent down from Division
inspecting us to: "Ask him what he thinks about 10th Recon".

After bellowing out like a recruit right in his face: "If you're not Recon..., SIR",...
got complimented on how very shiney my boots wearing & under bed were.
Never even mentioned my stolen 8 Ball displayed in foot locker used for darning socks.

In fact, NO ONE ever mentioned my 8 Ball prominantly displayed with my socks for about
three years, in either 10th Recon or "The A-Troop". Go figure? Hey,...what works, works.

Neil

Greetings All

I spent 22 years in the Army. Multipile tours in the 82nd Abn and 101st Abn, from PVT to 1SG. Three years in Vietnam, one with the 173rd Abn and two with Special Forces. Almost five years in Thailand as a reward. One year in Korea with the 2nd ID paying my dues. Retired and taught JROTC for 15 years and retired again. Now I am a gentleman of leisure living in Texas

Anyone who poses as Vietnam vet ---or any other kinda vet they way you have should be arrested to spend the rest of your natural born life in prison!

Good damn riddance!

Gimp (a REAL Vistnam Vet----and damn PROUD OF IT!)

David or Gimpy,...

Where & when did this: "Randy--Farmboy" "Exposure" occur.
I'm sure some others like myself would like getting caught up on such phonies.

Neil
