Subject: US begins First Agent Orange Cleanup in Vietnam?

I had to copy this and post it. I'm abit taken back by this country why
is it that we have to pay for cleanup or country rebuilding after a conflict
or war? I don't get it.

My brother and I have agent orange. I got cancer from it got treated and
I'm still hear. My brother wasn't that fortunate his was more severe and it
killed him. We have many guys who are suffering from this stuff I see them
all time time at the VA. Mine is a weak strain but its there. I took no money
from the VA. My brother died before he got anything.

But to go back and cleanup another country that we fought in seems abit
odd. Are we the only ones who do this? Didn't they know they would have
to cough up cleanup monies after the war. Give me a break. What's wrong
with this picture. They brutalized our troops and locals and now we are
going in there with money to clean up the place.

That's all I have to say anybody's input is appreciated. Geez I just don't get
it.

Sorry I can't give any good answer other than It's Always Not "Their" (political leaders/rulers) Money being gratuitously pissed-away. It's MY/YOUR/OUR Money.

Such politicos would obviously even want to clean-up Iran or N. Korea, after they attacked us.

Regardless, and on that: "Anybody's input is appreciated" bit, good luck to you.

For whatever reasons many of your fellow Vietnam Veterans no longer choose to post here anymore, or merely are just are no longer concerned about such important matters?
