A serious word from Janie

An Eye Opener

In March of 2002, I suffered two major heart attacks within 12 hours. During the second one, I died. Because of modern medicine, and it not being my time, I was brought back. My life has been a struggle with the return, and the complete change to my life since then.

In August, I was given the diagnosis of congestive cardiomyopathy. I was told I was in heart failure. I was told I had an aneurysm in the heart wall below all the damaged muscle. In easier words, I am a walking time bomb.

I spend each day being grateful for that day, but sometimes-battling depression in the only way I know how. With humor. Twisted, as it may seem at times, it helps, and has always been a part of my personality.

This past Friday, I was taken to the hospital via ambulance. I spent 2 days in CICU and then one in a regular cardiac unit before I could go home. I was the youngest person there. In the emergency room the jokes were flying about my wake, and what would be done with my house. As wild as the jokes got, it still brought home to me again that my time is not unlimited.

I have asked Jeff, and he has honored me by accepting my trust, to let you know in the event of anything happening.

I was at first embarrassed and humbled by Jane's request.

I consider it an honor to accept the responsibility she has given me.

What can we say , but...I love you, and I'm glad you're still here. You have too much talent and twisted humor left in you. (I have to learn more) I will indeed add you to my nightly prayer list. Theses are for you

God Bless you

Find this book....

Janie :

May God Bless !!! If you don't already have it, find the book by Norman Cousins about how he cured his serious illness through laughter. Our sense of humor and the mechanism of laughter are the first things that "exit stage left" in the event of serious depression. I know. I have been down into that black, hellish abyss many times. Keep smiling, keep laughing, and the whole world, and GOD, will truly laugh with you !!!

Larry N.

St. John 3:16

Hi Larry. I read that book. How could I not? Anyone who says you can laugh your way to health has my vote! it sure is better than all these screwy diets and meds!! Another good writer is Dr. Bernie S. Siegel: Love, Medicine and Miracles.

Well you know where I'm coming from mam. I even made french part of my vocation to share with you. But I'm still trying to catch up to your whip I mean wit. I think I speak for everyone when I say that your presence on this web site gives everyone a lift. I've never met you but I feel I 'know' you. We both share, along with many others, the true value of humour in traversing life's difficult highway. It's good to get off the highway at times and sit quietly by a babbling brook and share some fun.

May God smile upon you and keep you safe forever. Waz

Jane

I and my church will be praying for you!

You are much too young to be suffering from this sort of illness. Trust in God and He will take care of you.

Praying for your complete recovery.

Keith

Thank you Keith, that means so much!
Waz, love you too.
Nang, the angels mean so much, you know I love them!

Janie, if Mae were alive today, she would be beside herself with envy of your intellect, wit and unassuming manner. You have that rare and elusive quality of being able to make people feel as if they've known you forever.
... And yeah, even us curmudgeons fall under your spell.

OK, that's all, don't expect anymore seriousness out of me.....ever !!! :D
