Trash Dump
 

At the base camp at Duc Pho there was a big garbage dump, I and about 10 other guys got assigned to guard the garbage?
Now I have done some dumb things while in VN but guarding the garbage, I mean just what am I defending, didn't we through this stuff away? I for one wasn't about to get into a firefight over some garabge, they can have it. They put 10 guys on the garbage and 2 guys guarding the ammo dump.

Ron, you know the army throws away enough stuff to outfit another army :D . Remember- "Be careful what you throw away, Charlie might throw it back at you." Guarding the garbage sounds better than burning shit. Plus, you could probably keep anything you found that met your fancy :D .

Can still remember the rats crawling around in the dump at night . Course they crawled over us too . Never got used to that .
