US pledges US$140m to support Vietnamese education
(EXCERPT) About 100 Vietnamese will be able to study in the United States each year as part of a US$140 million American Government-Vietnam Education Foundation agreement. Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Minh Hien and US Education Foundation chairman, Herbert Allison, signed to the new programme in Hanoi on Tuesday. Attending at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem said the programme would further enhance education co-operation between the two countries.
