I CAN SAY THAT HE IS NOT MR KY or MY STUDENT DAY.
An SCVer, upon reading el Chino's two posts on the Declaration against
Mr Ky's visit to Vietnam sent out by Mr Nguyen Xuan Vinh President of the South Vietnamese Vet association , forwarded to El Chino a recent article by Mr Vinh in which he gave some interesting details (cf My Student Days Mo^.t Thuo+? Ho.c Tro`)on his junior High school day in Haiphong , an important sea port in North Vietnam. Vinh received a School Year Book published on Oct, 2000, commemorating the 80th Anniversary of his junior high School formerly named Bonnal after a French Colonialist and now re baptized Ngo Quyen, the First Emperor of the First Dynasty of Independent Vietnam. Vinh was student there in 1935. One interesting thing is with the help of Vinh's mother, Vinh's photograph was included in the Year Book. Only celebrities ‘photo were included in the year book. Vinh's was included because He was "professor member of International Academy of Aerospatiale Sciences (It is unclear what were the real qualification of individuals who are accepted as member of this Academy which is not the Famous US Academy Of Sciences). Other former alumni who were great achievers included one TBT of the VCP , nguyen van linh, the poet The Lu, the Music Composers Nguyen Dinh Thi and Van Cao, the writer Nguyen Huy Tuong. Mr Vinh did not have any shame having his pictures included with this gallery of Blood Thirsty Communists instead I detected a certain pride of being part of this good company. Another thing from the article ,at least in my own judgment, reflected rather badly on the Mentality of Vietnamese and their sense of values. Vinh's mother died in late 2002. Two months before her death she was visited by Vinh's sister and youngest son, i.e., her daughter and grandson. Vinh apparently could not make it not because He had no time or money. He retired many years ago with generous retirement but because his misplaced sense of honor. Being a President of an Association of Puppet Vets, he could not bring himself to visit his mother he professed to love to this day in his last writings. I remembered reading that former Soviet Prime Minister Kossyguin could not go to his wife of 40 years' funeral because he was busy mediating the Indian Pakistanese War in the 1960s. I despised the Communists for this kind of excessive sense of duty which is inhuman to civilized people. Today after reading my Student days, I found another reason to despise an Anti Communist Vietnamese and I can say that He is not Mr Ky |
