Russian and US military chiefs meet in Switzerland for 'deconfliction' talks

Senior Russian and US military commanders have met in Switzerland in a new bid to reduce accidental incidents between their respective air, naval, and land forces.

The meeting in Bern on 18 December saw Chief of the Russian General Staff General Valery Gerasimov and US Army General Mark Milley hold face-to-face talks for the first time since Gen Milley was appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in September.

“The top brass exchanged views on strategic stability, the situation in Syria and other regions, along with measures to avoid incidents during the sides’ military activity,” said a Russian Ministry of Defense spokesperson after the meeting, which was described as “constructive”.

Personal note: They had better have a good talk because both North Korea and China are ready to do war in a hat trick. Work it out or the world will become very shaky from the possible upcoming nuclear war scenario which of course nobody wins.
