IMPERIAL INTRIGUE or just plain ROYALLY SCREWED?

There are many who believe that a double standard exists within the international community. As such, one must ask - ?is liberty, justice and equality under the law, a reality or merely a smoke screen in some instances!??

* The current allegations of ?Homosexual Rape and Cover-up? that hit ?English Royalty? right between the ramparts (according to CNN), is but another soiled reflection of ?Life In The Fa$t Lane!? With the sadness of Princess Di, and sundried Royal Affairs still a tea-time topic in the "British Isles", yet another ?Whiz-Banger? of a scandal is tainting the royal armor!

But why should this come as any surprise, as after all, when one strips away the mink, the platinum and the titles, each and every one of us stands bare-assed before the mirror of truth!! And as far as the allegations of cover-up in high places, no surprises there either, as any (alleged) crime is usually followed by a period of denial and silence, and that in turn by a modicum of story straightening, and then an encore of image polishing and legal maneuvering (Lies)!

The time was when the "Demi-Gods of Society? were supposed to lead by example, no matter from what loin of the rich and famous they sprung! But hell, of late, we have seen ?Nationally-Known Clergy of Many Faiths? accused of ghastly crimes of greed and passion, sports stars caught up in filthy escapades, political icons ensnared in dubious debacles, and even God Himself, ripped from the fabric of democracy! So a little ?Back-Door Entrapment (Pun intended) and Royal Cover-up? comes as no surprise!

What is a shocker, however, is the fact that these ?Mortal Gods? are suppose to be the most intelligent, of the highest dedication, the most religious, and the greatest examples of humanity this side of the Holy Grail itself! Yet when caught with their pant?s down or their deeds bared, they all resort to the lowest of human follies - ?THEY LIE LIKE HELL!?

* So sorry old chaps, but apparently, nothing is sacred to some, save for their own asses, which brings us back to paragraph 2!!

VERITAS :x: :r:

Justice

Justice equal under the law? Never has been, probably never will be. To be nice, we might say that people with money and position are more equal than others. Look at O.J. yes, they played the race card however without his fame and money he would have had to cop a plea to two counts of 2nd degree murder and looked forward to getting out in 17 years; (20 years less time off for good behavior).

As far as Di goes, she was raped twice and there was a cover-up? Cut the crap. If she picked up the phone and said, "This is the Princess Di, I've just been raped." There would have been 34 police crisers at the palace within 10 minutes. Besides cops can't keep secrets like that. If there was an honest rape, it was her decision not to make a complaint.

As far as the royalty of England setting an example for others, that's a real laugh. Over the years they have been a twisted bunch, almost from the get go. William II, Edward II and good old Richard the Lion Hearted were all openly gay. Henry I admitted that he was the father of 19 bastards after getting married. James I (the guy they named the King James Bible after) thought that being bi meant that it would double his chances for a date on Saturday night. George I's wife had a boyfriend. He had the boyfriend's head cut off, placed in a large glass jar filled with alcohol and made his old lady keep it on a dresser in her bedroom where she was imprissoned for 30 years. During those years George had two long time, publicly known girlfriends, one big and fat, one short and skinny. And the list goes on and on.

Historically royals never thought of setting an example for others to follow. They were in fact, the law.

Stay healthy,
Andy

I had to wait a few minutes before responding back to you as I was laughing so hard! As for what you said, "AIN'T IT THE TRUTH!!"

Being an old Bay Stater (Lizzy Borden Town) myself, I always love it when someone says it like it is! :ae:

I was working in Doncaster, Yorkshire, when Di and Charles were married, and visiting in Warrington when Di died and saw things go from one extreme to another. Just an opinion, but I?m under the distinct impression that Di was the favorite among the British people, far more so than Elisabeth, Charles, Fergie, William, Andrew or the rest of the Royal mob. As well, I?m under the impression that the Royal family is more or less an institution; something like an obsessive hobby, with most British people. And for sure, I very much believe that they love a bit of gossip and scandal, especially when the Royal family is up to their ears in skullduggery or whatever. From the Royal wedding era, I did purchase a silver Charles and Di coin; about the size of a silver dollar, and it will stay in a hermetically sealed protective case as long as I have anything to say about it. A un circulated Charles and Di coin should be something of interest one day, maybe. Or perhaps it is just a historical curiosity and relic of things gone real, real bad, who knows.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why Americans are so fascinated with the Windsors..their intelligence?what brains they have would rattle around like a bean in a boxcar. Their stunning good looks? Move over Trigger. Their impact on national or international political policy? Can you say David Duke or Al Sharpton? Their wealth? Sucked out of the working people of England.

Our forefathers fought a war to kick these usless twits out of our country..So why are Americans so fascinated..after all, we do have the Kennedys, and Cher, and Madonna, and Tom Cruise, and ad nauseum.

The "so what" test....

Adv?
And nearly fought a second War as well. At the time of our Civil War, the European powers that be installed a member of the royal bunch in the seat of power of Mexico. This guy, Maximillian, was an unemployed Austrian monarch so quite naturally it was decided he would rule Mexico. Then Prez Lincoln made it abundantly clear that he was tied up with the American Civil War but still would not tolerate a European Monarchy on the US southern border. As such, funds and weapons were funneled to Mexican Rebels and the Crown of Mexico was a short-lived exercise. It was just a few years back that Mexico and the Vatican finally restored diplomatic relations as the Vatican has been smarting over the loss of properties; about a third of present day Mexico, since the time of the ?Crown of Mexico?. Good book-?The Crown of Mexico? and an example of just how insidious and greedy a Monarchy combined with a Church State can become. Personally, I find the entire concept of a monarchy to be a thro-back to times long ago and the entire mob, all of them, should have been pitched out in the aftermath of WW1. After all, it was their war for crying out loud. They found a way to get the family feud going and millions paid a price for their greed and stupidity.

But it is fascinating to watch if ya happen to be in the neighborhood. It?s kind of a combination of interesting and stupid, not relevant and wasteful all in one package. But what the hell, it is just a bit better than watching the grass grow, paint dry or cement harden if ya are at loose ends for a moment or so. But at the end of the day none of it passes the ?so what? test these days.

Yes, the British have their skeletons throughout history, up to and including 2002.
As do many other countries, Canada and the United States, too. Double standards exist in the whole world, and are not only part of only a few countries.

"People in glass houses should not throw stones "

or if one fails to undrstand that one.....

"when you point a finger at someone else.... remember you have 3 fingers pointing back at yourself"

Sweet Sue:

I, for one, know that we norteamericanos have glass houses; no getting around that. Personally I am disgusted by any in authority that use their position to cover up their transgressions...thingsfor whichthe ordinary man or woman would be hung out to dry. Myobservations are: 1) Why are we shocked when this stuff comes out; and, 2) Why are Americans, who are not members of the Commonwealth, so interested in the doings of the Royal idlers?

Of course Susan, that goes without saying. During my periodic times in the UK, I had a love-hate relationship with BBC1. If I wanted to know all the dirt and scandal about the USA, I?d just dial in BBC1. Sometimes it was enough to make me want to go ?postal? but what the heck, none of that really mattered or passed the so what test either and was a good lesson in humility and in seeing another point of view. And sure, it was great for seeing those ?three fingers pointing back?, for sure, big time. Oh, it is not a well-known fact but the single largest property owner and investor in the USA is the UK, bar none. So I found a lot of the BBC1 leftist leanings and US criticisms to be a bit rhetorical and the fingers pointing right back at themselves. I view the USA-UK relationship to be a bit of a benzene ring where everything is hooked head to tail in a continuous, never ending loop. And actually, that relationship is far closer than the US-Canada relationship. We probably get along better with Canada but are far, far more integral and interlaced with the UK in most all respects in terms of non-North American interests.

ya.. i agree to some of your post. The UK-USA relationship is closer than the Canada-USA one.. but then Canada's PM is a major wussy too! The PM of my country is a big joke.. he has no intention of following through on anything other than lining his own or his supporters pockets. :D
At least the UK has the balls to say what they mean... and then follow through! And no... I am not being disrespectful of my own country. I tell it like it is!
As for the pull of the Royal family for Americans??
Who knows! Why do people's ears perk up @ any hint of scandel or even good deeds of anyone else? Curiousity? Wishful thinking?? (I always thought that I was superb Princess material! LOLOL) Awwwwwwwwwww to live in a real world of make believe & perfection. Isn't that what we all strive for, deep down in our hearts???? Perfection. Of all in life for everyone.
NO matter what, man/womankind will always have a yearning for $$$$ and the supposed 'good life' of extreme wealth. Ya don't see Joe Public droolling over the life & times of some poor bum sleeping over a grate!

Well time to go make lunch for my hungry boyos!
just remember.... we ALL have skeletons! :D
Susan
