Is It True ?
I received an e-mail concerning Pepsi having a new " Patriotic " can coming out that has the Twin Towers and the Pledge of Allegiance on it. The problem is, they left out "In God We Trust" so that no one would be offended ! If this is true, we should not spend our money on Pepsi since our money also has "In God We Trust" on it!

Does anyone know about this?

I never heard about that, but if it's true, I will sacrifice my pepsi. Oh God, another withdrawal!!

Just got this off the web:
Subject: New Pepsi Can Pepsi has a new patriotic can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Bldg. and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. But Pepsi forgot two little words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they did not want to offend anyone. If this is true then we do not want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office. If we do not buy any Pepsi product then they will not receive any of our monies. Our money after all does have the words "Under God" on it. Please pass this word to everyone you know. Tell your Sunday School class tomorrow and tell your Pastors so that they can tell the whole congregation. Christians stand up and let your voices be heard. We want the words "under God" to be read by every person who buys a can. Comments: This false and pointless message is essentially a corrupt variant of the Dr Pepper protest circulating since February 2002. Dr Pepper cans did, in fact, briefly carry a promotional slogan featuring an excerpt from the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance. However, Pepsi ? an entirely different company, I hasten to point out ? has never run any such promotion, nor announced plans to do so. Statement from PepsiCo: We wanted to clarify an erroneous report that has been circulating around cyberspace for the past several months. Pepsi has not created any packaging containing an edited version of America's Pledge of Allegiance. (PepsiCo Website) ? Last updated 09/07/02 |
